IgA Nephropathy (Berger’s Disease) IgA nephropathy is a chronic kidney disease where a protein called Immunoglobulin A (IgA) builds up in the kidneys, causing inflammation and damage over time. WHAT HAPPENS IN THE BODY IgA normally helps fight infections.
